MET-A-BALL * 2025* Ball Room Memories

Ballroom is the disruptive, wild and powerful manifestation of a community that after years of being invisibilized now claims its own spaces with dignity and pride.

Far from being a movement of the body, it is a political movement of resistance, it is a clear example of a community more present and active in society as well as the development of a scene full of beautiful nuances that will gradually change the vision that has been held of a community long thought of as something apart.

Understanding that we are part of a great chain of life is essential, we are complex beings, therefore, we are DIVERSE. There is not only one path, but many, and the freedom to choose must be the great power of each one of us and the absolute respect for the rights of others a priority. Because in DIVERSITY is strength.

In these images, those who participate, become the symbol that represents the union of all that is sacred, the strength and intensity of the ballroom, the battles that each of the members face not only on stage, but in life itself. But above all, it speaks to us of the primordial emotion that makes us human, and that moves the world, LOVE. It is difficult to summarize such a broad experience with so little, but if these photographs provoke some emotion in the viewer, I can consider that my task here was accomplished.
